Accessibility

Everyone is welcome to practice with us, and that includes this website. If something here gets in your way, please tell us and we will get you the information another way.

The standard we aim for

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That means, among other things, that every page should work with a keyboard alone and with a screen reader, have enough color contrast, and still read well when you enlarge the text or view it on a small screen.

So far the site has been tested only with automated checks, run on every page in one browser. It has not yet had a full test by hand with a keyboard, or any test with a screen reader or with people who use one every day. We would welcome help with that.

What does not work well yet

  • Recorded talks have no transcripts. The archive holds more than 1,200 audio recordings. If you are deaf or hard of hearing and would like to follow a particular talk, write to us and we will look for a way to help.
  • Some parts of the site are run by other companies: giving and class registration (Vanco), retreat registration (our online store), and online sittings and talks (Zoom). We cannot fix problems inside them. If one of them stops you, contact us and we will look for another way to help.
